Thomas Co-Managing Director and Chief
Investment Officer
Mr. Thomas is responsible for sourcing,
negotiating, and closing new property acquisitions for the Company. In
an 18-month period, his leadership generated and closed 3.4 million
square feet in 41 projects valued in excess of $150 million. Mr. Thomas
has participated in acquisition activity in excess of $500 million and
his management, leasing, and brokerage experience surpass an additional
$250 million. He serves on the Company’s Investment Committee, which
directs the acquisition and disposition of the firm’s real estate
assets. He is the senior TCP officer located in the Houston office.
Prior to joining the TCP team in 1986,
Mr. Thomas served as an aide to Lowell Lebermann, Jr., a prominent
Austin, Texas-based civic leader and businessman. After attending
Vanderbilt University, Mr. Thomas received his Bachelor of Business
Administration in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin with
concentration in real estate and urban land development.
Mr. Thomas holds the Certified Property
Manager (CPM) designation from the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM).

Mr. Thomas has served as director for
BOMA and served as its Legislative Committee Chairman for three years.
Mr. Thomas has been a featured speaker at commercial property symposiums
in Houston and New York and profiled in the Houston Business Journal. He
has also served on the IREM Legislative Committee, the BOMA
Congressional Network, and the Austin City Council appointed Downtown
Commission, which successfully passed Austin’s first Business
Improvement District, instrumental in the revitalization of downtown
Austin.
He also is involved locally in the
Greater Houston Partnership, Uptown Houston Association, Central
Houston, Inc., The Houston Foreign Affairs Council, The Houston Forum
and he is an advisory director for the Houston Office Guide publication.
Mr. Thomas serves as a Special Commissioner for Harris County Civil
Court at Law #2 in condemnation cases on behalf of the Texas Department
of Transportation and Harris County. He also serves on the Board of
Directors for Communities in School – Houston.
